Seniors Day Out Hibiscus Coast
THE SENIORS DAY OUT STORY
The SDO group was established in June 2021 by the Founding Director of Ripple Recruitment Ltd, Kayleen Martin, in response to hearing a senior friend express how lonely she was since her daughter moved away from the Hibiscus Coast to the North Shore.
Kayleen has always found loneliness of seniors in a community intolerable so she approached The Salvation Army HBC to seek support for her vision of SDO and they generously offered the use of their 12 seater Corp van to transport members each month.
In 2023 the Salvation Army continues to support the SDO group with the use of their Corp van which our group is truly grateful for.
Each month Kayleen plans a different mostly local (within a 15 – 45 minute drive) day event.
Some previous events have included museums, art galleries, gardens, movies, exhibitions, garden centers, op shopping and theater productions.
Events also usually include a cafe lunch experience.
NEXT TRAVEL DAY
Auckland Art Gallery
We will travel to Auckland City to take a leisurely stroll around the gallery.
For those who are less mobile wheelchairs are available at the venue and I’m sure group members wil be happy to assist you.
There are always many great exhibitions to explore at the gallery so it promises to be a wonderful trip for everyone.
When we are ready for a break we will have lunch in the on-site Cafe where we enjoyed a selection of cabinet and menu options during our last visit.

Entry Fee: FREE – Donations are accepted
Booking/Travel Fee: *$10pp
When: Wednesday 13th March 2024
Departing: Salvation Army at 10:30am
Returning: Salvation Army at 3pm approximately
Lunch: Pay for your beverages and food of choice
* Seats are reserved when the Booking/Travel payments are received.
